I just talked about this on the news on WXYZ ABC, Detroit.
We talked about Alzheimer’s, one of the scariest diagnosis that any of my patients could have. What we’re talking about in the newsroom was the importance of aerobic exercise. We’re finding out that aerobic exercise can really help to decrease cognitive decline; decrease Alzheimer’s disease in so many patients.
On another note, aerobic exercise with strength training didn’t make the same difference that aerobic exercise alone did. This is important to remember.
Aerobic exercise could be strenuous exercise. Reducing the rates of Alzheimer’s as your body pumps all that blood into your brain, it’s critical. I tell my senior patients over 65 that, just because they are 65 and over, it doesn’t mean that they need to stop working out.
It also means that they could really do 75 minutes of aerobic exercise every week. Make sure you talk to a doctor before starting an exercise regimen. We also believe that strength training is important but for cognitive decline for your brain, it’s better to do aerobic exercises. Go in the mall and walk.
Fit aerobic exercise in your life, every day.
Make healthy living a part of every day. –Tweet this!
The bottom-line is that we can do a lot of good and change a lot the status of disease if we have the right information.
The light in me honors the light in you.
