(WXYZ) — Another warning regarding the Mineral Miracle Solution, the FDA says it’s the same as bleach. And drinking it may cause potentially life-threatening side effects.
Just because the name has “miracle” in it, doesn’t mean it’s safe. Too many folks are being misled by the product’s name. And also by false marketing that claims when the solution is mixed, it becomes anantimicrobial, antiviral and antibacterial liquid.
Unfortunately, social media and many online independent distributors are touting this as a remedy for all kinds of health issues – like autism, HIV, hepatitis, the flu, and even cancer
So what’s in this supposedly “cure”?
Well, websites selling it say the product contains 28% sodium chlorite in distilled water. And just before drinking it, you’re supposed to mix this liquid with citric acid like lemon or lime juice as this activates the product. Some of the products are sold with their own citric acid activator.
Now the FDA is warning consumers that when you mix these together, the solution becomes chlorine dioxide, which is a powerful bleaching agent. And it’s not meant to be swallowed by anyone.
The FDA has received new reports of consumers suffering from severe vomiting, severe diarrhea, and symptoms of severe dehydration – plus life-threatening conditions like low blood pressure and acute liver failure
So this is very serious.
What’s even more troubling is that some of the sites touting this product say that vomiting and diarrhea are common and shows that the product is working. Please do not believe this and please do not fall for false marketing.
Also, be aware the product is sold under other names like:
- Master Mineral Solution
- Miracle Mineral Supplement
- Chlorine Dioxide Protocol
- Water Purification Solution
The FDA says they have not seen any scientific evidence supporting the touted health claims. If you have a health issue, please speak to your family doctor.
If you decide to treat yourself, you could be delaying proven medical treatment that we know is not only effective but safe too.
